The importance of this activity, which was organized in early April of the descendants of Union soldiers from Serbia 1912-1920 under the auspices of the Nisava Management District, the City of Nis and Palilula, say the organizers of the competition, history professors and students rewarded.

It is very important for the functioning of a state, city, municipality that children know the history of their people, because anyone who does not know own history does not where to go into the future, said Prof. Dr. Igor Novakovic, president of Palilula, at a ceremony presenting awards most successful students and schools. In this political moment, after 100 years, it is equally important to know that in the first Balkan war and the Serbian territory of Kosovo and Metohija freed after 600 years of slavery under the Turks. And despite the centuries-old slavery, many illiterate, lack of regular education and the inability to read, preserve the memory of our spiritual and cultural values and territorial expanse of Serbia. Children are our wealth and we are in the municipality of Zemun within the available budget we care about them. This is just one of many events where Palilula sponsors these kind of activities. The Municipality of Palilula will give the winner team, except awards that were given, also cash prizes. According to the President Novakovic, we want only to encourage them to be more interested in this subject in schools.

Nikola Blagojevic last year won third place in the Republican contest. "Our professor Slavoljubka is most deserving that we have achieved this excellent result-Nikola said. After primary school I plan to enroll to "Svetozar Markovic".

According to Dunja Cekić this team has been preparing for two months. I had all positive answers on all questions. When you learn the material nothing is difficult and for us to participate in this competition was only a challenge. Favorite subject in addition to the history is physics. "I`ve loved history from young days, says Konstantin Ilic. My main interest period 19th 20th century and because of that period of our history has the most well-known details about some of the events we are witnessing.

According to Zorica Stojiljkovic, a member of the Council of Palilula Municipality, this was not a classic event in history that normally is organized by the Ministry of Education of Serbia, but it was actually supported by the City of Nis and municipalities. We are really pleased that the children showed this high levels of knowledge. This is not knowledge of the history of the entire period of development of human society, but only for the period from 1912-20 and it was found to not that they only did not use the textbooks, but also demonstrated their knowledge according to some legends, stories and some historical records.

`I am extremely pleased with the level of knowledge of our students. Our association allowed them to perform in time preparation, we provided appropriate textbooks, says Dragan Ristović, president of the `Municipal Alliance Committee of the descendants of warriors of Serbia 1912-1920`. Young people are eager to learn and the activities and actions related to our victims, through our curriculum, quizzes, seminars, round tables, we want to turn the young generation, to convey to them what really happened in those days of our history. Must not forget the liberation struggle of our ancestors and preserve the integrity of our state-Ristović said.
`Association of the descendants of warriors of Serbia 1912-1920` is socially recognized, non-governmental, non-political, humanitarian, patriotic and mass organization that preserves and cherishes sacred traditions of our glorious ancestors. This Association earlier this year celebrated 93 years of successful operation and existence.
